Michael Jordan Responds To LaVar Ball’s Comments About Him
LaVar Ball has been doing his darndest to keep his family’s name in the headlines at all times, and he’s doing a pretty good job. A couple months ago, Ball was quoted saying that he “would kill [Jordan] back in my heyday,” a headline that had everyone laughing at the outrageousness. LaVar does have a lot of confidence, but it’s hard to know if he really thinks that or if he’s just talking to talk.
MJ finally responded to these shots, and it’s an answer you’d probably expect from a hall of famer. Jordan said about the remarks, “You got to understand the source. I think he played college, maybe? He averaged 2.2 points a game. Really? It doesn’t deserve a response, but I’m [going to] give it to you because you asked the question. I don’t think he could beat me if I was one-legged.”
For context, Ball averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds a game in the 1987-88 season at Washington State. That same season, Jordan averaged an NBA-leading 35 points for the Chicago Bulls. So, yeah. LaVar might be tripping…or he’s just really good at doing his own PR.
