Harvard Will Welcome Their Most Diverse Class, Ever

There’s an old Chris Rock joke that says Black people aren’t progressing, White people are the ones who are progressing.

Caucasians have historically been threatened by people of color. It was the imperial Whites who held back the African American and immigrant people. Education being one of the biggest tools denied to people outside of the White race, in order to weaken folks of color.

This week, White progression hit another roadblock.

The Caucasian President of the “free world” filed documents within the Department of Civil Rights to help White students who feel discriminated against in college admission, because of affirmative action laws. A blow to the people of color, earning their way into higher education while facing economical and other distress–And really a psychological reminder of who’s system it really is.

Well, White people might have no choice but to progress because people of color are forcing their way into higher education, “equally” as hard. This year marks the first time in history that the majority incoming class of Harvard University are people of color.

According to the Boston Globe, 50.8% of the incoming freshmen class are from minority groups. Of the students admitted from minority groups, 22.2% are Asians, 14.6% are African American, 11.6% are Latino and 2.5% are Native American or Pacific Islander.

I would mark this news in the “positivity” category, but something tells me these statistics might have scary White folks in power, scrambling.

Rachael Dane, a spokeswoman for the Harvard University says they’re proud of their diverse, incoming class.

“To become leaders in our diverse society, students must have the ability to work with people from different backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives. Harvard remains committed to enrolling diverse classes of students,” said. “Harvard’s admissions process considers each applicant as a whole person, and we review many factors, consistent with the legal standards established by the US Supreme Court.”

How long before the first lawsuit against an Ivy league University is filed over “foul” affirmative action practices? Maybe we will be lucky, and Whites will progress enough to impeach their President before they regress any further.
