Molly From ‘Insecure’ Talks Her Comedy Career And Visiting The White House
The cast of HBO’s ‘Insecure’ continues their press run as Yyonne Orji stops by Desus & Mero to talk about the show. The extended interview–available after the show airs via Youtube–catches the actress who plays Molly talking about everything from the beginning of her career to now being on such a popular show.
Yvonne talks about when she knew she wanted to do comedy early on, but didn’t want to disappoint her parents who expected her to go to medical school. She also explains how she would get hired by corporate parties since her stand-up shows were “clean comedy.”
Orji’s come a long way since her 3 minute sets at office parties, and shares a video of her dancing at the White House when Obama was in office. She also talks why her co-star Issa Rae won’t let any of the other cast members rap on the show, but confesses that she’s more of a shower singer than a rapper anyway.
