Prince Given His Very Own Color By Pantone

Respect due to the icon, legend and rock ‘n roll God Prince.

According to Billboard, Prince has been enshrined in color hall of fame now that Pantone has bestowed him his very own hue called “Love Symbol #2”.

It’s basically purple.

We all know when it comes to purple it doesn’t belong to Kool-Aid, Barney, weed, the Minnesota Vikings, nobody, except Prince Rogers Nelson.

The late singer-songwriter’s estate, along with Pantone, created this color in his honor:

“We are honored to have worked on the development of Love Symbol #2, a distinctive new purple shade created in memory of Prince, ‘the purple one,'” Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute said in a statement. “A musical icon known for his artistic brilliance, Love Symbol #2 is emblematic of Prince’s distinctive style. Long associated with the purple family, Love Symbol #2 enables Prince’s unique purple shade to be consistently replicated and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself.”

This story just reminded up how much we miss The Purple One. R.I.P, Prince.
