Republicans Are Coming Out Against Trump’s Charlottesville Statements

Cheeto crusted sack of garbage Donald Trump is facing criticism for not being strong enough in his condemnation of Ku Klux Klan members and neo-Nazis who staged a rally in Charlottesville last weekend, and most specifically for saying “all sides” were responsible for the violence that ensued.

Though it’s not surprising that y’all’s president isn’t denouncing the exact groups of people who elected him, it is pretty surprising that other Republicans, some tied closely to him, are denouncing his decision to blame “all sides.” John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Paul Ryan all tweeted their piece and made things clear that they don’t stand with Trump’s statements.

Off Twitter in a joint statement, former presidents George H.W. Bush and his son George W. Bush said, “America must always reject racial bigotry, anti-Semitism, and hatred in all forms. As we pray for Charlottesville, we are reminded of the fundamental truths recorded by that city’s most prominent citizen in the Declaration of Independence: we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights. We know these truths to be everlasting because we have seen the decency and greatness of our country.” George W Bush did say during the election that him and his wife did not vote for Trump.

So, there you have it. Even the people who are in the same political party as Trump think he’s disgusting. Hopefully these politicians and those around him who aren’t completely brainwashed by his charades hold Trump accountable more.
