Johnson & Johnson Ordered To Pay $417 Million
Johnson & Johnson just suffered another blow in one of those ovarian cancer lawsuits. The company that was already ordered to pay one woman $55 million and the family of another woman $72 million, is being ordered to dish out $417 million for another suit linking talcum powder to cancer.
The woman receiving that massive settlement is is Eva Echeverria, a 63-year-old from Los Angeles who said she had been using the powder as a regular part of her feminine hygiene routine since she was 11.
According to CNN, Echeverria said she finally stopped using it in 2016 after she read a news story about another woman who used it and had ovarian cancer–but it was too late.
A judge awarded her $70 million in compensatory and damages and $347 million in punitive damages.
There are THOUSANDS of cases like this against Johnson & Johnson. If people keep getting these HUGE settlements do you think Johnson & Johnson can survive???
