Charlotte Republican Mayoral Candidate Deletes Facebook After Posting “Vote For Me, I’m White”

Sometimes people are so stupid they don’t even bother to hide it. Take for example 53-year-old Kimberley Paige Barnette, who is running for mayor in Charlotte, NC and thought her constituents would be impressed that she’s “REPUBLICAN & SMART, WHITE, TRADITIONAL,” and vote for her, so she put it in her Facebook bio, which you can see for yourself below:

Barnette, a former Mecklenburg county magistrate, later deleted the post and deactivated her Facebook account.

Dumb. Just dumb. The other local Republicans quickly moved to distance themselves.

According to NY Daily News, Robin Hayes, the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party issued a statement that read, “Any suggestion that a candidate is more or less qualified for political office based on their skin color alone, is offensive to North Carolina Republicans and we condemn it.”

The paper also revealed that Barnette was criticized for saying Charlotte shouldn’t encourage lower-income people to move to the city.

Barnette currently trails two other candidates in the Republican primary on Sept. 12., last month during a debate she described protests as “an expression of Democratic behavior.”

This woman sounds like a nightmayor… get it?
