California Wildfires Claim 11 Lives

At least 11 people are dead in Northern California as wildfires continue to rage. NBC reports that police and fire officials are overwhelmed with at least 100 missing person’s reports and 1,500 structures reported damaged.

Over 20,000 people in the fire’s paths have fled their homes in eight counties in Northern California’s wine country.

NBC adds that the 15 wildfires have collectively become among the deadliest in California’s history.

“With increased resources headed to the region to battle the wildfires, hopefully we’ll start seeing some turnaround throughout the course of today and into tomorrow,” Cal Fire Deputy Chief Scott McLean said Tuesday on TODAY.
