Morgana Van Peebles Is The Latest Star From Talented Family

Last week we had the pleasure of interviewing Mario Van Peebles and his daughter Morgana Van Peebles who currently star in the new SyFy show “Superstition.” If you’re not already familiar, Mario is the son of Melvin Van Peebles, the pioneering black filmmaker known for’Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song‘, and Mario is accomplished in his own right, both as an actor in films including ‘New Jack City’ and ‘Posse’ as well as his directorial work (he directed the episode of “Superstition” that aired Friday). Now Morgana is joining the family business with a role starring as Mario’s granddaughter Garvey on “Superstition.” The 19-year-old is also a student at Columbia, currently taking a semester off to pursue acting.
