UNR Campus Cop Wears Racist Colin Kaepernick Costume

An officer for the University of Nevada Reno — the college Colin Kaepernick went to — thought it would be absolutely hilarious to dress up as Colin for Halloween and mock the fact that he hasn’t been rehired by the NFL over his decision to protest the anthem.

Antonio Gutierrez didn’t have the caucasity to go full blackface, thankfully, but kept it juuuust racist enough. He donned a bootleg Kaepernick jersey, shoe polish beard, afro wig, a pointy fake nose and a cardboard sign that read “Will Stand For Food.”

According to TMZ, Chief Adam Garcia of the UNR PD issued a statement letting it be known that the REST of the police force doesn’t publicly rock with his costume.

“For those who have seen the Halloween costume of one of our officers apparently mocking a citizen who has chosen to take advantage of his constitutional right to protest, I offer my sincere apologies.

Members of our profession are held to a higher standard and denigrating another — on or off duty — is insensitive for its lack of respect and lack of understanding on how others may negatively view their actions and may be impacted.”

Meanwhile, after that very flowery apology, the cop in question isn’t getting punished for his actions, as according to the chief of police, the police squad has “no policy that would dictate any disciplinary action” for a costume of this nature.

How convenient for Officer Gutierrez, huh?
