2-Year-Old Denied Kidney Transplant Rushed To Hospital With Infection
Remember the 2-year-old boy born with a rare kidney disorder who was DENIED a transplant from his father, a perfect match, who had recently violated the terms of his probation?
Well, it turns out that unnecessary red tape has proven to be near detrimental for the young one in question. According to WTSP, little A.J. Burgess was taken into the emergency room Sunday morning to treat a peritonitis infection that has set in while he’s been awaiting surgery.
Emory Hospital told the family last month that A.J.’s father, Anthony Dickerson he would have to be on “good behavior” for the next 3-4 months before they would let him to donate his kidney to his own son. They’re thinking of revisiting the transplant in January 2018 if Dickerson “behaves himself,” but at the rate things are moving for little A.J., that may be a little late.
