Black Thought Joins Desus & Mero To Talk Roots Longevity

The latest guest to stop by the Viceland studios in Brooklyn is the frontman for The Legendary Roots Crew, Black Thought. He talks about being a day 1 fan of Desus & Mero, and has apparently been asking the guys to come up and be a guest on the show since the first couple of episodes aired last year. He discusses everything from his favorite Roots album, working with Big Pun, and repping Philly instead of paying homage to New York once he moved there.

Thought also talks about Biggie having beef with The Roots–or at least thinking that he did. After thinking that BIG dissed them on a song, he called Bad Boy to do a lyric check and the emcee actually said, “The Gooch,” not “The Roots.” He also discusses how crazy the longesvity of The Roots’ career is, going from doing shows however often to performing every single night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
