Diddy Declares Intent To Purchase The North Carolina Panthers

Sunday North Carolina Panthers NFL team owner Jerry Richardson penned an open letter published on the team website announcing his intent to sell the team following this season. Richardson has been under fire amid sexual misconduct allegations.

‘I believe it is time to turn the franchise over to new ownership,’ Richardson wrote. ‘Therefore, I will put the team up for sale at the conclusion of this NFL season. We will not begin the sales process, nor will we entertain any inquiries, until the very last game is played.’

Despite Richardson’s comment that no inquiries will be entertained until the last game is played, Diddy jumped at the opportunity IMMEDIATELY, posting a video making his case:

‘I will be the best NFL owner that you can imagine,’ Diddy said. ‘I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback.’

‘Also, I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music, and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl,’ Combs continued.

Wonder how Cam Newton feels about Diddy’s idea to start Kaep over him… Guess that’s why he made the competition comment.

Diddy also took to Twitter to make his intentions known.

It would be pretty amazing to have Black NFL ownership, wouldn’t it? And it’s possible Diddy won’t be the only Black owner. Steph Curry also expressed his interest in getting in on the purchase.

Curry is a North Carolina native, and while it’s unknown how his NBA status would affect his ability to purchase a team, it’s likely Diddy will need some wealthy partners to get the deal done.

According to DailyMail reports, the Panthers are worth $2.3billion, while Combs’ stimated net worth is currently $820 million. How many Black millionaires is it gonna take to buy this team?

UPDATE: Kaepernick has just expressed his interest in joining the ownership group with Steph and Diddy…
