New York Times Cancels James Franco Event Due To ‘Recent Allegations’

It seems like James Franco snagged a Golden Globes and more troublesome accusations all in the same week–and it’s costing him gigs. After Franco seemingly stole the GG away from “Get Out” star Daniel Kaluuya on Sunday night, a woman came forward on twitter with the #TimesUp tag, accusing him of forcing oral sex on her and being sexual with her friend, who was only 17.

Reportedly, The New York Times has canceled a panel discussion featuring James Franco the actress Violet Paley tweeted accusations of inappropriate behavior. Huff Post reports a spokesperson for the Times said that the organization was “not comfortable” pursuing the event amid “recent allegations.”

Franco and his brother Dave were scheduled to appear as guests during a “TimesTalk” event Wednesday night. They were going to be interviewed by Times culture reporter Sopan Deb. Welp!

The culture editor for NYT also adds that Franco refused to addressed the allegations upfront.
