Simone Biles Reveals Bullying Over Her Arms

Simone Biles is a powerhouse with a powerhouse body to match. Unfortunately for the 2016 Olympic individual all-around, vault and floor gold medalist, she was subjected to bullying over her body from messy miserables hating on her muscles.

Biles, who also recently got bullied for her hair, revealed to Today that she used to get relentlessly roasted over hr muscular arms so much so that she used to wear sweaters YEAR ROUND.

“People would say mean things at the time. They used to call me a ‘swoldier,’ which didn’t make me feel the best,” said Biles. “I wore sweaters or jackets all year long to cover my arms.”

She added however that support from friends including fellow gymnast Aly Raisman, in particular, helped her feel more comfortable.

“As gymnasts, we look similar to each other, so we’ve helped each love our bodies because it helps us with what we do,” Biles said. “Everybody looked the same, had the same muscular build and we could all do things that other athletes couldn’t do.”

Now Biles is spreading a message of body positivity that she wished she had when she was under scrutiny.

“I wish I could tell my younger self to be positive about my body, because when you learn to love your body, you learn to fall in love with yourself.”
