Tracee Ellis Ross Wasn’t Actually Threatening To Leave Black-ish

With all of the media’s discussions about women being equally compensated for the work they do in films and television alongside their highly-paid male costars, stories about certain actresses wages had come out of the woodwork. A story about Tracee Ellis Ross was at the forefront, with reports alleging that she was threatening to leave or pullback from her show Black-ish after finding out her co-star Anthony Anderson was making exponentially more than her. The usually very outspoken actress has kept quiet about the reports, but on Saturday released a statement letting the world know the story out there isn’t exactly true.

Ross states that the original story reporting her threats to leave the show are completely inaccurate and wishes that the writer would have confirmed her quotes with Tracee herself. She also explains that the reason this story ever came to light is because she was in the process of renegotiation her contract with Black-ish, and of course wanted to make sure her compensation 4 seasons in reflects all of the hard work she puts in daily.

Though the beloved actress admits having her private salary negotiations out in the open was awkward for her, she is still appreciative of the outpouring of support coming from all ends.

Eloquent as always, Tracee.
