Cardi B’s Sister Hennessy Carolina Blasted For Amara La Negra Comments
Hennesy, please. After Amara La Negra’s controversial “Breakfast Club” interview where Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy were accused of dismissing her colorism battle, an unlikely voice spoke out.
Cardi B’s younger sister Hennessy Carolina who appeared on LHHNY season 7, apparently took issue with Amara “insinuating” that Cardi benefitted from colorism even though it’s probably true and wrote a loooooong diatribe dissing the Afro-latina. According to Hennesy, Amara should be on Cardi’s side considering that they’re all Dominicans and Cardi struggled to be accepted as well.
“Okay I like her she’s obviously beautiful,” wrote Carolina. “This is the same message my sister has been trying to spread for a while now, but it doesn’t count because she’s not so dark? People f*** with Cardi because of who she is, not because she’s light skinned. I think that’s what Charlamagne was saying, a girl from her same country with her same hair in braids from the hood that had to become a stripper because it was hard for her to find a job BECAUSE IF [SIC] HER HAIR AND COLOR. […] We are woke and we’re fighting for the same rights girl.”
Cute statement—too bad that’s not what Amara said.
Amara actually said that she struggled in the Latin market because of her dark skin and Cardi B hasn’t seen success in that market either—that’s it.
“Cardi B is Dominican and she’s mixed with something else, yes. Now she’s America’s darling, okay so at the end of the day she popped off in the American, not the Latin market.”
Amara’s since responded to Hennessy; hit the flip to see what she said.
Amara thinks Hennessy misunderstood what she said.
Wonder what Cardi thinks about all this, we’re SURE she’ll speak out.
Hennessy deleted her post but not before she added this;
UPDATE: Hennessy added this;
You KNOW people are dragging Hennessy back to the Bronx.
