Pablo Cano Accused Of Sexual Assault

After the shocking case of Officer Daniel Holtzclaw raping 13 black women made headlines, another alleged sexual predator with a badge is being exposed. At least nine women have come forward to accuse former Louisville Metro Police Department officer Pablo Cano of rape.

WDRB reports that Attorney Benjamin Crump who represented the families of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Michael Brown and won a case that ended with Holtzclaw’s 263 years sentence, is now on the case.

“This officer … violated their trust in the entire system when he coerced them when they were most vulnerable,” Crump told the news station. “We declare Louisville, Kentucky, will be Ground Zero in the “Me Too” movement, of women being violated by these rogue police officers.”

Four of the accusers have filed lawsuits against Cano and are seeking an unspecified monetary judgment, as well as a jury trial and punitive damages for emotional distress, humiliation, embarrassment, pain and suffering.

WDRB reports that Cano’s first accuser spoke to them in July of 2017.

“He grabbed the back of my head and slammed me against the door jam,” Jane Doe 1 recalled. “I knew if I went to the hospital, I would have to go through an exam, because I was bleeding. [It] would have been horrific. I knew they would call the police, and I didn’t trust whoever showed up to keep me safe.”

Cano quit his job at LMPD in September, so far NO criminal charges have been filed against him.

This story deserves all of our attention and people like activist Tamika Mallory are keeping people abreast of the case.

We’ll continue to follow this story that will hopefully end similarly to Holtzclaw’s.
