Nas Celebrates Black History Month By Commemorating His Ancestors

Nas teamed up with Google Arts & Culture to celebrate Black History Month by paying homage to the icons and their movements that have changed the course of history.

In a new clip, the Queensbridge native pays tribute to Black musicians and storytellers who make history, also talking about how those people influenced him personally and as an artist.

In the video, Nas reflects on the legacies of his father Olu Dara, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and several others.

Google Arts and Culture will feature stories from more influencers throughout the month, paying tributes of their own to the legacy of Black pioneers.
