Wale Hints That Lotus Flower Bomb Is About Solange
Wale is raising eyebrows by speaking on one of his biggest songs. The “Free Lunch” rapper is pretty chatty on Twitter these days and he recently answered some questions from fans about his long musical catalog.
He told them about a Tevin Campbell sample on his track “3 Days 3 Hours”…
and his J. Cole collaboration “Shades.” According to Olubawale, that track was originally crafted by 9th Wonder but a sample couldn’t clear.
Oh?
Things got especially interesting however when Wale gave a short and sweet answer about his track “Lotus Flower Bomb.” According to the D.C. rapper, it was about someone who’s married now.
Mmmm. Married, you say?
His comment has since sparked rumors that he’s talking about Solange considering that they allegedly transcendental meditation made out dated back in the day. Back in 2009, Wale told Honey Magazine that he “loves” Solo and gushed over how much he respected her as a single mother.
“We’re friends. She’s amazing. She’s a good person. Any single mother contributing to society the way she does – I got a lot of love for them. She’s got to do a lot on her own and raise a young black man in this day and age so my hat goes off to her. She’s definitely an anomaly. And the way she can do that and manage to do the same things that I complain about having to do.”
Solange responded however and said that they were just friends. She then went on to marry her hubby Alan Ferguson in 2014 and Wale moved on as well.
We’ve heard from a few sources that the song is definitely about Solange.
Can you blame Wale? he was clearly feeling her big ankh energy.
Take a look at some of the lyrics, do you think Solange hade Wale making Miguel assisted love songs?
Flower bomb, let me guess your favorite fragrance
And you got that bomb, huh, I’m tryna detonate you
No disrespecting baby, just tryna make you smile
Try to keep my spirits up, that’s why I lays it down
Try to keep your spirits up, lil vodka whatever
Took you forever to get dressed, I acknowledge your effort
