Remembering Sean Taylor On The Anniversary Of His Death 11 Years Ago
11 years ago today, Sean Taylor was killed in his home during a home invasion that still doesn’t quite make sense. Taylor was gunned down when 17-year-old Eric Rivera and 4 other men broke into his home in search of a cash stash that they mistakenly thought was there.
Rivera was subsequently sentenced to over 57 years in prison according to the Miami Herald, the rest of the robbery crew were given sentences ranging from 16 years to life.
Taylor was on his way to becoming one of the greatest defensive players in the history of the NFL and his death was one of the most shocking ever in sports.
