The Spice Girl Gives The Strange Details On U.K. TV

You might remember reports back in December 2017 of how Mel B was cutting off a tattoo dedicated to her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

Following their divorce, Mel didn’t want to have anything reminding her of Stephen on her body. But instead of going the laser removal route or the tattoo cover-up route, Mel wanted her surgeon to literally cut off her body the tattoo that read “Stephen, till death do us part you own my heart.”

At first, it seemed Mel wanted to burn the tatted flesh once it was off her body. But now, according to Metro UK, Mel still has the skin…

And she keeps it in a jar on top of her wardrobe.

Mel revealed this information on an episode of the U.K. show Loose Women. She described her relationship to Stephen and why she got the tattoo cut off in the first place.

“A lot of my surgery was to do with getting out of my abusive relationship,” she said. “It was almost like a cleanse. I just wanted to feel fresh and new again and untouched by that person.”

She continued, “It sounds horrific…but what I went through was so horrific. This one particular tattoo that my ex had forced me to have was ‘Stephen until death do us part, you own my heart.’ I just thought I can’t go through the pain of getting it lasered….so I convinced a good friend of mine, a doctor, I said ‘Can you just cut it off my body?'”

She ended by saying “I’ve saved it in a jar, which sounds a bit strange.” When asked where she keeps the jar, she said “At the top of my wardrobe. Nobody can see it, but I know it’s there.”

Mmm…okaaay. Whatever helps her sleep at night.

Mel B has been very vocal about the alleged abuse she suffered from Stephen. Now, following their divorce in March 2017, Mel is trying to take her life in a new positive direction, including a stint in rehab for alcohol and sex addiction.

When describing her tattoo removal some more on Loose Women, Mel said, “It’s like if you’re a rape victim the first thing you want to do is get in a bath and wash everything off you. I didn’t want to have any remnants of him on me.”
