Here’s Why Big Freedia Wasn’t In Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ Video [Video]
Big Freedia Talks To Wendy Williams About Beyoncé
Big Freedia has been a star in her own right for many years, but it was a call from Beyoncé that took her career to another stratosphere.
The Big Bounce Queen stopped by Backseat Heat with Wendy Williams and opened up to the host about lending her voice to Bey’s 2016 banger “Formation”.
My publicist called and said, ‘Beyoncé wants to talk to you’. I’m like, ‘Why are you on the phone?! Why you didn’t just give her my number?!’ “The project happened to be “Formation.” They sent me probably a 3-second snippet of the song for me to come up with a line. Next thing I know, the song was out.
As for why she wasn’t in the iconic video for the song — which was filmed in her hometown of New Orleans — Freedia said:
I’m not worried about being in no video. But they did call about doing the video, but I was on tour and it was shot in New Orleans. So I missed it.
Video or no video, she did not come to play with you h***.
