LeBron James Is Serious About His Summer Training Regimen

LeBron James is in Hollywood making some big moves right now, but that doesn’t mean he’s throwing his determination for basketball to the side while he is persuing other avenues.

Despite the fact that James is set to begin filming his starring role in Space Jam 2 just as he embarks on a six-month stint away from balling, the Los Angeles Laker is making sure that he doesn’t allow himself to slack off during the offseason. How? By having a full-length basketball sourt built on the movie’s set, according to reports from Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

LeBron is making his debut as a lead actor in a feature film coincides with his first full offseason–playoffs included–since 2005. James says he’s more motivated by these circumstances, saying, “I like being uncomfortable in the offseason. I like being counted out. It motivates me.”

The baller also said that it feels as though he’s playing with house money as he tries to figure out how to get the most of his additional two months of training. “I’ve had basically the same offseason training regimen the last eight years,” James explained. “I knew how long I wanted to rest for the season on a short timeline. I’m figuring out now how to get as much as I can out of two months of extra time for training. It requires a totally different strategy. We’re looking at it in an entirely new way.”

Space Jam 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 16, 2021, but luckily, we can catch LeBron back on the court way before that.
