The Singer And Songwriter Explains Concept Behind New Video “Disco Lover”
Rico Davis brings the heat with his new visual for his pop and R&B inflected song, “Disco Lover.”
The video sees the Camden, NJ-born, New York City-based artist showing off his talent for dance as he boogies with his backing dancers in a graffiti-filled club. Shot by director Michael Gordon, the video was filmed on location in Staten Island in just 18 hours, Davis said.
“Disco Lover” is off of Davis’ new EP, “The Golden Ratio.”
Davis explained the concept for the video: “What inspired the vibe of this visual is my passion for creating worlds and telling stories to my music. I wanted the choreography to be a combination of jazz, funk and hip hop. It was important each dancer represented a different walk of life so that the video would be cohesive to my forthcoming EP, ‘The Golden Ratio’.”
