Matt Barnes On Nipsey Hussle And White Media

Nipsey Hussle’s death has affected many of people in many different ways. Even folks who knew nothing about the rapper before his passing are speaking out about how much he meant to Los Angeles and the Black community as a whole. According to Matt Barnes, even White Folks have embraced Nipsey as a superhero. The former NBA star stopped by D.L. Hughley‘s radio show on Monday, and dished on why he thinks White media is now embracing the slain rapper.

“Usually when [black people] die it’s ‘he had a marijuana charge, he did, he did that’. White media has embraced him as a hero and how we look at him and really have started putting out the positive things he was doing. This is a rare occasion where White media has accepted one of our heros as a hero and painted him in that light as such.”

Matt’s comment comes just one day after FOX News anchor Laura Ingraham mocked Nipsey’s death live on air just hours after he was laid to rest. Ingraham, who clearly knows nada about hip hop music, claimed that Nipsey “recently released” a song called ‘FDT’ opposing Donald Trump.  If she wasn’t so busy being racist, Laura would know that the song was released back in 2016, and it’s YG rapping the hook she spoke of — not Nipsey Hussle.
