Woman Claims Nail Shop Owner Is Racist

A Black woman in Buffalo, New York is none-too-happy with her local nail shop after a recent incident that she believes to be racist.

According to Spectrum News, Annetta Williams was at the North Studio Nail Salon trying to get a fresh set last Friday when she was told that she would not be serviced.

She says a woman started taking down her information when the owner, Darius Huynh, interjected.

“And he said, ‘no, we can’t take care of your kind today,’” Williams said.

Williams said she asked several follow-up questions to clarify when she finally asked, “Are you saying you’re not taking care of black people?”

She says Huynh replied, “I’m not taking care of you people.”

As with most things, there is a discrepancy with the facts. Hyunh’s lawyer Steve Long says it didn’t go down like that.

“We had four witnesses there that let’s just say have a diametrically different recollection of what occurred when the individual came through and said, ‘can I have my nails done?’” Long said.

Long says Huynh simply told her he didn’t have time to take care of her because they were booked that day, and that he had to repeat himself because of his accent and he was wearing a mask.

Annetta posted a Facebook video that got hundreds of shares and likes after she left the shop. Subsequently, Hyunh says that he began getting threatening calls to the point that officers had to stop by the shop periodically to check on safety.

Despite the nail shop refuting her claim, Annetta isn’t going away quietly into the night, she’s hosting a forum Utica Business Center at 11 East Utica Street today at 6:30 p.m.

Ladies, and some of you fellas, have you ever had a racist experience with a nail tech?
