Chevy Vs. Ford Argument Leads To A Shooting In Virginia

A man in Virginia was arrested last week after allegedly shooting two people, all because they disagreed on a seemingly unimportant topic: is Chevy or Ford better?

56-year-old Mark Turner was taken into custody on April 23 following the incident, which had just taken place the night before. Turner was eating dinner at a home in Bedford with his girlfriend, his girlfriend’s son and the son’s girlfriend when the group went out to the front yard. Not long after, an argument broke out between Turner and his girlfriend’s son when the two couldn’t agree on whether Chevrolet or Ford vehicles were better.

Turner allegedly whipped out a knife during his argument, a situation that his girlfriend was trying to deescalate. According to the Bedford County Commonwealth’s Attorney Wes Nance, Turner’s girlfriend ended up being stabbed with the knife in her lower back, sustaining a six-inch wound.

He then went on to retrieved a gun from inside the home and when his girlfriend put herself in-between Turner and her son, the 56-year-old allegedly shot her in the leg five times, along with shooting her son in the arm.

According to prosecutors, Turner then allegedly barricaded himself inside the home, continually leaving to shout at police. Eventually, investigators shot Turner with a bean bag round and took him into custody. Nance said that alcohol might’ve been involved and beyond that, search warrants reportedly indicated that “there was possible drug activity at the residence.”

Turner was charged with felony malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a felon following the shooting, according to online records.
