White Walker: Night Queen Adjacent Taylor Swift’s Biggest Culture Vulture Moments Of Her Career
Taylor Swift has spent the last 24 hours getting roasted to hell and back for her complete jocking of Beyonce’s Beychella performance, complete with an offbeat marching band, pink and zero skill or talent. The dragging has been epic. However, this wasn’t a one-off.
Taylor has been getting dragged across the ‘net for years now as she has a long history of appropriation and culture vulturing.
Don’t remember? We have a list of the moments right here…get a refresher.
1. Shake It Off – She came under fire in 2014 for her video that shows her twerking in front of ethnic dancers, supposedly poking fun at herself but really using black women dancers as props. She also didn’t have any black women in the ballet portion which is important to note.
2. Wildest Dreams – In this video, she whitewashed Africa and made colonialism look like something to be desired.
3. Look What You Made Me Do – This video (notice a pattern here?) was a clear knockoff of Beyonce’s Formation, down to the color schemes and cinematography.
4. Silencing Nicki Minaj – When Nicki mentioned frustration with her “Anaconda” video not getting nominated for a VMA, Taylor centered herself, taking it as a personal attack and said Nicki was ‘pitting women against each other”...okay. She did later apologize.
5. Remember when she covered Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September”…? Enough said.
6. Taylor Swift also released her album on the 10th anniversary of Donda West’s death…causing many to think this was an intentionally petty move. Though it was never confirmed.

7. Let’s not forget back in 2015, The Weeknd said that she couldn’t stop petting his hair when she met him…like he’s some sort of zoo animal. “But when she started petting my hair, that’s when I was like, ‘I definitely need a drink.'”
