Richard Lomotey Accused Of Kidnapping Three Women While Working For Uber

Richard Lomotey, an assistant professor of information science and technology at Penn State University, is being accused of kidnapping three women via Uber.

Initially, two women told police that Lomotey, 36, ignored his GPS, instead of driving an indirect route. The man then allegedly asked the passengers if they were single and complimented their appearances. At one point they say he pulled over, locked the car and told the victims, “you’re not going anywhere,” according to the criminal complaint.

The victims leapt from the car, later showing police a photo of the suspect and his license plate from the Uber app, the criminal complaint said.

A third woman told police a similar story on May 16th about Lomotey. She says every time she unlocked the car doors, Lomotey would lock them, the documents said. She eventually jumped out of the car after the man grabbed her wrist and they began to tussle. Her clothes were ripped during the incident.

Lomotey now faces charges including kidnapping and false imprisonment, posted bail on Monday. He is next due in court for a preliminary hearing on May 23.

What a CREEP. SMH.

In related news, one of his Penn State collegues thinks he’s “innocent” and started a GoFundMe to help pay his legal bills.
