David Ortiz’ Shooter Thought To Be Crooked Cop

Yesterday we reported that David Ortiz aka “Big Papi” was shot in the back in his home of the Dominican Republic.

Today, according to NYPost, we get word that Dominican authorities believe that something dark and corrupt lead to Big Papi taking a bullet. A “source” tells the news outlet that the working theory is that the shooter is a cop who was hired to be a hit man.

“They’re definitely looking at a police officer in the shooting,’’ the source said.

25-year-old Eddy Feliz Garcia was caught, beaten and arrested for the shooting but cops must think there’s more to the story.

Ortiz told a local newspaper that he had no idea why he was shot and that there was no robbery attempt as some had reported. Police are still actively hunting for all persons they believe to be involved.

Ortiz was rushed to the hospital in a black Rolls-Royce owned by a wealthy friend, Eliezer Salvador, who was with him at the time.

“Please don’t let me die. I am a good man!” Ortiz begged as he was rushed into the emergency room.

The thought of Big Papi pleading for his life in his own hometown is pretty disgusting. We’re glad he’s ok.
