AOC Defends Calling Immigrant Detention Center “Concentration Camp”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is again being criticized for her commentary about the immigrant detention centers that the Trump administration is running along the U.S.-Mexico border.
AOC has unabashedly called the centers “concentration camps” akin to something out of Nazi Germany. As with most things, references to Hitler, the Holocaust, and anything that can be positioned as anti-semitism will draw public ire.
But AOC isn’t backing down. She recently spoke to NBC News in defense of the terminology and explains exactly why she used the very specific phrase.
Even if you’re up in arms about the words, she’s not wrong about the logic.
