The body of missing 5-year-old, Shaniya Davis, was found in the woods yesterday. Her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis, is currently being charged with human trafficking, child abuse involving prostitution and filing a false report. Flip the hood for the update to this story.
Shaniya’s body was found Monday, approximately 30 miles from her Fayetteville home. When the young girl first disappeared, police investigated the alleged boyfriend of Antoinette Davis, the girl’s mother. That man was later let go, and police charged Mario Andrette McNeill with kidnapping after hotel surveillance video showed him with Shaniya. McNeill later admitted to taking Shaniya, after which, Antoinette Davis was arrested on felony child abuse and human trafficking charges. Police believe that Antoinette offered Shaniya to the man for sexual favors.
Authorities were hopeful that the arrests of McNeill and Davis would lead to them finding Shaniya alive, but that wasn’t the case. The cause of death and condition of the young girl’s body have not been released.
