Nicole Bell & Family

Hip Hop artists unite to honor the memory of the late Sean Bell:

Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Cassidy, Drag-On, Maino and Styles P. have all come together to record the song ‘Stand Up (A Sean Bell Tribute).’ The track debuted on AllHipHop.com yesterday and will be available for purchase at the iTunes music store. The song will cost 99 cents and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Sean Bell Benefit Fund.

Truth be told, it’s refreshing to see artists unafraid to stand up and speak out against injustice. Click HERE to peep this new track.

  • I'm Just Me

THIS IS WONDERFUL…IT REALLY IS. AND I AM GLAD THEY ARE TRYING TO HELP THIS FAMILY. I WISH MORE HIP HOP ARTISTS WOULD GET INVOLVED IN CAUSES AND MATTERS OF REAL SUBSTANCE INSTEAD OF TALKING ABOUT B*TCHES AND HOES AND ALL THE JEWELS THEY HAD. GOOD LOOK FOR THOSE INVOLVED.

LOVE THIS PIC OF NICOLE AND THE KIDS TOO!

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

Okay, maybe not, lol… Hey “I’m Just Me”, Happy Thursday!!! One more day till friday, woohoo!! I think Sean’s wife looks beautiful and his daughters are addorable… So sad that Sean will not be around to watch them grow up.

  • Brooklyn, Stand UP!

Also, I am very happy to see these artists step up and try to help the family… Honestly though, where is Jay-Z, Puffy and 50 Cent in this? Their the ones who can afford to give 100% of the sales to procedes, not struggling artists like Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Cassidy, Drag-On, Maino and Styles P. I guess we see who is rich with love and who is rich with greed.

Meanwhile on the other side of the street…

    ~~

“Six teens were found near Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park, where a crowd had gathered. It was not immediately clear whether they were wounded at the park or as they fled when gunfire erupted about 10:15 p.m. Monday, police said.

The victims — between the ages of 13 and 18 — were found on several blocks along Lenox Avenue, from 125th Street to 128th Street. They had been shot in the chest, thigh, torso, abdomen or foot, police said. A 15-year-old girl had been grazed on the forehead. No arrests had been made”.

It’s time to take life seriously at all points.

It’s so upsetting for Police to shoot at an unarmed vehicle and by the grace of God only 1 man was killed that night.

It’s is just as upsetting when we point the guns at eachother and get the same outcome.

I wish they could have got more big name rappers (Jay-Z,50,The Game,TI)on the song b/c it would encourage more people to listen to it.

    Brooklyn

Jay was the first one who i heard did something for the family.. Swizz is far from struggling-he lives in a house w/ a helicopter pad in the middle of a neighborhood off a cliff.. hello Brooklyn!!

  • ripped

Beautiful family. I would think she could sue on behalf of his children even if they weren’t married. And whoever said it is nice to see hip hop artists stand up for something other than hoes and hennessy, I agree 100%

  • He's Presidential

Yep that’s a good move. It’s still sad though that he had to die of foolishness at the actions of stupid cops. I’m not sure what the hell is going on with Black America. I live in Dallas and black men are constantly in the news for stealing, killing and dying. It’s a damn shame we can’t get along. I remember growing up and it my mom was like it was good to get her son out high school and onto college. I pray for Black men because it is so hard for them in this society.

  • me

Well, lets see.. if he wasn’t a drug dealing thug, he’d still be alive, and if any of them had any morals they would of been married, instead of having a “baby mama”.. if you want to know whats wrong with this world, just look at a family like this, and know there are millions of families just like this one, and people wonder why the world is so f*cked up.. stop selling drugs, stop being a thug, make an honest woman out of your “babymama”, get a job and stop being “hard”..

  • me

    He’s Pres.

the only reason its hard for them is because they make it hard.. stop being lazy, start getting an education, stop listening and looking up to these gangsta rappers, get a job, stop selling drugs, stop blaming the white man, pick yourself up and stop being a loser… than maybe it wont’ be so hard.. but i guess it’s just easier to blame someone else..

  • Southern Belle 225

This is a wonderful thing! True, there should be more of the bigger name hip hop artist involved but its okay. Just the mere fact that they are doing anything at all is a good thing. So Kudos!

  • Southern Belle 225

Oh, and that’s a beautiful pic of the family. Very cute girls!

  • WordzOfaProphet

    @Me

Yeah it is easy 2 blame sum1 else, but when ur shot 4 absolutely no reason…..damn right u blame every f*cker dat pulled da trigger. U know wat its ignorance like urs dat pissed on my bright and beautiful day.

  • Harlem Chic

It would be nice if mainstream hip hop could be turned on its head and drop real knowledge. Right now the music that’s being spitted is devil’s pie.

  • Kamee

Good to see artist use their voice for a cause!

Side Note: That oldest daughter looks just like her daddy. I love to see little girls who look just like their daddy, and still be a cutie pie.
