Beyonce’s #BlackIsKing is a triumph and tribute to the African diaspora. The movie has been widely praised already and it’s only been out a few hours. The Guardian encapsulated the beauty of the movie in their review:

“This soundtrack and film is a love letter to the black diaspora, to remind them that they, too, are part of something bigger. With appearances from Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, Pharrell and Naomi Campbell, this star-studded film has something for everyone. It is compelling in every sense and takes you on a moving journey: not only through the story of The Lion King, but through a small portion of the beautiful cultures and traditions that exist within black communities globally.”

As part of her celebration, Beyonce celebrated artists and figures she collaborated with. She had her guest performers, friends and inspirations all through the movie. Want to see who they are? Hit the flip.

Kelly Rowland – Most of the guest appearances come during the Brown Skin Girl video and Kelly is one of them as she got name checked. Of course here chemistry with Bey is second to none.

Jay-Z – Can we call Jay a guest appearance? He’s pretty much a staple at this point. Well, whatever the case, he was in the movie and being extremely flex-y the whole time.

Pharrell – “Water” is one of the most fire songs on the project and Pharrell’s appearance set things off right. He and Bey are always magic together.

Lupita – She was also in Brown Skin Girl and was as radiant as ever. Lupita, we love you with all our black a$$ hearts.

Naomi Campbell – She was also in Brown Skin Girl getting a shout out and looking damn near like she’s the same age as Beyonce. Goodness gracious.

Adut Akech – She’s one of the more successful and beautiful models in the game and being featured here is just a reminder of that fact.

Moonchild Sanelly – She absolutely ATE her appearance, giving us dance goodness and Motherland swag that was rightfully featured.

Tierra Whack – She come through and crushed the buildings with her guest appearance, killing it the whole time and reminding us why she’s one of the baddest in the bunch.

Wizkid – We knew he’d be all up in here for his feature on “Brown Skin Girl” and it’s incredible. Mans is a star.

Yemi Alade – She arguably had the show-stealing moment with her choreography and dance sequence. She bodied this without question.
