Garcelle Beauvais is Questioning her Faith After Earthquake Hit Haiti

- By Bossip Staff

Haitian born Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon went on Larry King expressing her thoughts about the earthquake that hit in Haiti. She also says that she’s questioning her faith, especially since Garcelle is not able to get in touch with her family that still resides in Haiti.

Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon: You have to question faith, in a way, you do. I mean, you don’t understand, especially a place like Haiti. We’ve been hit so hard by lots…

“It’s really hard to take. It’s really hard to watch. I mean, seeing the one picture of the baby covered under the rubble, because they couldn’t get to it… Those are my people. Those faces are my family. The worst is not knowing.”

Moreover, like many, she’s questioned her faith in recent days:

“You have to question faith, in a way, you do. I mean, you don’t understand, especially a place like Haiti. We’ve been hit so hard by lots – why would this happen? I don’t know. This is the country that deserves this the least – not that anybody deserves it. But we are resilient and we are proud. Even if we have nothing, we are very, very proud. It’s unfortunate. It’s devastating.”

And like fellow native Wyclef Jean, she’s appealing to people to contribute to relief efforts:

“I want people to give anything they can. I know it is tough times for the United States. But give anything, Red Cross, Oxfam. Anything you can do would really be helpful.”

In trying times like this, all people have is their faith, no matter what they believe in.

Jesus already warned us about theese signs & other indications of the end of days in Mark 13:8 –

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be earthquakes in divers [various] places, and there will be famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

Don’t faint or give up when times are hard Garcelle, we have already been forewarned. Stay strong in your faith when times are hard, draw strength from God through His Son Jesus- DON’T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passing no judgement! We all go through tough times that cause us to question at one time or another. If you haven’t been through anything…..you wouldn’t understand! If you haven’t asked WHY? yet, just keep living! Just because you’re down in a difficult place and asking why doesn’t mean you can’t raise up and pull through with renewed faith!

Good for you Garcelle! There is no “god.” So she is correct. Religion is something created when people were too stupid to know better. It is a shame that even with so much real EVIDENCE that there is no “god” in the sky that people keep quoting the “bible” Get real people. Why don’t you quote Harry Porter they sold a lot of those books, too. Lol.

Message to believers: I believe that everything happens for a reason, there is nothing in this world and of this world that happens because God didnt plan it. I also believe that God allows things to happen to wake us up and get out attention. Yes, bad things have occurred in Haiti, tremendously bad things, and people have been trying to raise awareness to the plight of Haiti for years and nothing has happened. But rewards comes to the longsufferer, for God hears all of your prayers. It took this major disaster to happen in Haiti to finally open the eyes of the rest of the world, and look at what has happened so far. Millions of dollars have been donated to this country in relief effort, we finally have a president in office that can change what is happening in Haiti. Yes lives were taken, and my condolences are with all of those who have lost loved ones, but Gos said it was there time to come home.
We must look at this way, it took a tragic incident to finally awaken the eyes of the world. After the catastrophe of what happened in Haiti, this country will be reborn, will have to rebuild from the ground up, and who knows, maybe the U.S led by President Obama will help give this country the structure it needs. God brings everything to fruition, in time…..and he definitely hears the prayers of all.

Why can’t people use their brains!? Haiti is in the middle of a fault line, infact the only reason why it exists as with many other islands is because of earthquakes. Religion has NO place in this or the rescue effort. Made me sick to hear a guy go on tv saying Haaiti deserved because they made a “deal with the devil”

A clasped hand in prayer vs an open hand pulling rumble? No brainer.

I would rather die believing what I believe than die believing what YOU believe and be wrong! I am not a bible thumper in any way shape or form but there is a GOD and you WILL see his face one day just like the rest of us.

Don’t say Garcelle is “correct” because she didn’t say she didn’t believe in God. She said “You have to question faith.” Everybody questions faith during personal tragedies. At no point in her quote did she say “I don’t belive in God.” I missed that part and so did YOU. So don’t even try it!

I don’t believe that God controls what happens on this planet. The bible says this is the Devil’s world. You don’t have to look too hard to confirm the truth in that. We all have free will and humans are slowly destroying this planet.

I was thinking the same thing. If you had family in a Third World Country recently hit by a 7.0 quake, wouldn’t you be on the next plane to go and seek out their whereabouts, if you truly cared what happened to them, rather than set up an interview with Larry King???

Your statements are shocking, If you are a Christian I suggest your prayers rather than your ridicule.

    @Cortnijade
So you don’t think this earthquake had anything to so with the fact that Haiti sits on an earthquake fault line?

I agree, this really isn’t a matter of religion or conspiracy… Haiti only exists because of the process of earth quakes… basic science… being so it rests on a fault line… eventually fault lines by definition will quake.

It is still very sad how ever.

Think of all the people in San Francisco. I wonder how they will feel about God when there is a major earth quake there. When they know very well what has happened there before and what inevitably will happen again.

iam sorry; but we all have our peaks and valleys and god said; it will rain on the just and the unjust…….. living life in this world is painful…. and still yet my bible tells me that i should not question him [god] under any circumstances… how does the song go, happiness is just an illusion filled w/ sadness and confusion…what be comes of the broken-hearted. and the bible tells me to lean not un to my own understanding.

  • dick head

oh now u say you’re questioning your faith where were you before the quake?was’nt your country still in peril living on less than a dollar a day.smh
