Slip Of The Tongue Or On-Air Racism: Did Mike Greenberg Call MLK Out Of His Name On Purpose?
ESPN “Mike & Mike in the Morning” co-host Mike Greenberg either got tongue-tied or let the whole world know he’s a bigot this morning. Pop the hood to find out what Greenberg said that’s got everyone so riled up.
The popular sports talk show hit an awkward note when, after the show came back from a commercial break Greenberg appeared to say “Martin Luther Coon, Jr.” before quickly correcting to “King, Jr.”
He said COON instead of KING. Wow. They say a Freudian slip will let you know what a person really thinks, but is it really that deep? What makes matters worse is Greenberg hasn’t acknowledged or apologized for the the slip-up. One thing is for sure — after today, his wife definitely isn’t the only person who thinks he’s an idiot.
