I totally agree with Jay-Z. Good effort though!

  • stark Tony

Not a diss, he doesnt have to if he doesnt want to.

  • chaka1

Ok Camel. You are in and on everything. Can’t someone else have some shine for about five minutes? Seriously! The world has had just about enough of you buying your way into everything.

I will admit the remake starts off and ends weak. The middle part is excellent.

  • elle

He’s right, some songs don’t need to be remade. I do wonder where he was when Rihanna decided to butcher “Redemption Song”. Its not about having shine or being on a project the song was not up to par and for a song that was being touted as an update it was more like a downgrade

  • Black Folks, stop keepin it REAL; and start keepin it RIGHT

How can any rapper say certain things should not be touched? That is basically all they do! re-make other’s music and ad rap lyrics. Hypocrite

  • yaya

He is right…I mean…lil wayne was on there using autotune…wtf??? It is disrespectful to Michael jackson’s memory. Not a diss, just the truth.

  • THIS IS A GENERATION OF FOLLOWERS WORSHIPPING THE SAME THREE PUPPETS

MOST OF YOU ARE FAKES ON THE OTHER POSTS YOU ALL SAID HOW “HOT” IT WAS NOT THAT THIS DEVIL WORSHIPER SAYS HE DOESN’T LIKE IT YOU ALSO DON’T LIKE IT?

    PATHETIC MUCH

  • WhatAWorld08

He was just stating his opinion,I can respect that!

  • UrHeinessDaQueen

well,I actually agree with him on this one..I heard this remake & even though it was for a great, humane cause? this modern version was rather disappointing with the exception of certain artists like Mary J,J-Hud,Celine Dion,Toni Braxton,Mary Mary & Nichole Szercinger

I totally agree with Jay-Z. I was thinking the exact thing when I heard about it. Good for him for not taking part and touching and untouchable song.
I still applaud their efforts but something original would’ve been better.

  • nywoman23

i didnt go to hiphopwired to read the rest. i will say this i cant stand camel but i do agree they shouldnt have remade that song. it sounds horrible. n yes i had to laugh at wyclef haitain yodel hahaaa. i cant stand him either, they are both repulsive.

  • lt

    1 agree 100%

  • monique

    i totally agree with him

  • Caramel Cat

Wyclef really messed up this song, no seriously…. Every part where he’s yodeling makes my EARS hurt!

That little rap section was unnecessary too….heck, remaking this song was a MISTAKE!

Bad editing with Janet and MJ singing together….awww h3ll…..

  • Yeah Right Jay!

I agree that song was booty, but I don’t buy Jay’s reason why he and Bey were not on the track…

  • chicken fingers on a farm

ILLUMINATI HOV IS RIGHT! THAT SONG IS WHACK AS HELL!!!!!!

  • fan

He is so right. The orginal is such a classic and the remake is awful! Some things should just be left alone!

  • muchluv

I TOTALLY agree with Jay, that’s exactly what I thought when I heard there would be a remake. I thought, why not write a new song with all the talent involved. It turned out to be a catastrophe. Wyclef should never have opened his mouth, just sad and a horrible abuse of a great classic.

  • Shay

I’m a child of the 80s so I get what he’s saying. I cringe every time I hear about something from the 80s being remade. You feel like your childhood is being destroyed.

Dont to much like Jay and what he stands for but I give him a BRAVO for his one… I was hoping that mess never made it… I havent heard it yet I dont wanna lose that song I remember as a child

  • pop

I AGREE W/ JAY…AUTO TUNE IN WE ARE THE WORLD?…REALLY…

IT WAS CRAP…SHOULD OF LEFT IT ALONE!!

  • Mel B 2010

yeah, that mess was straight boo! nobody is original anymore, gotta go to the classics instead of creating they own song. BOO!!! on that mess.

  • Yummy CupCake

I agree with Hov. The original was the best!

    @LadyInChucks
I KNOW RIGHT!!! IVE BEEN SAYING THAT ON EVERY POST I SEE ABOUT THAT SONG ITS ANNOYING … IT THEY WANTED TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT THEY COULD HAVE JUST MADE THAT OWNS OR SOMETHING BUT DAMN Y MESS UP A GOOD THING

  • Maureen

There were just too many damn people. If they had kept it to 30-40 good, solid singers instead of nearly 80 (!) I think it would have been a better effort. But I commend them for doing it, it’s for a good cause. Some parts gave me goosebumps (Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, even Kanye’s verse) but the Auto-tune was a mess. Why does Auto-tune have to get into everything? Even a charity song? 😦
