F*ck A Thug: Two Teens Shot In Cali While Attending Church Service

- By Bossip Staff

We really need to stop the violence. This is getting way out of hand:

A Sunday church service in Richmond, California, erupted into chaos when three gunmen opened fire on congregants, injuring two teens, according to police.
Police headed to the New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ about 12:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET), after three hooded men shot at churchgoers, Richmond police spokeswoman Bisa French told CNN.

“We’re not sure if those two victims were targeted, but someone definitely in that general area where the victims were, was targeted,” French said.
Police are unsure why the church, filled with more than 100 people, was attacked. The male victims, ages 14 and 19, are expected to make full recoveries, French said. The assailants were described as being in their late teens or early 20s, French said.

    100000% Cosign. Most of our problems are now in-house and can be corrected that way, but some people love to cling to the idea of perpetual black victimhood.

    What’s going on in our communities is a disaster, and if we don’t own up to it, it will be our death knell.

    I think it is so sad that you cant even go to churc to give God praise without worrying if someone is gonna come in and shoot…this is crazy…I hope and pray that those thugs are caught and get the maximum of what is coming to them…But one thing i can say is that you cant hide from God you can hide from the police but never God….

  • Caramel Cat

    I think all these gangbangers and thugs need to be sentenced immediatly to active duty in the wars. They want to shoot mf’s all day and kill people, then they can go after public enemies and be comfortable in war zones…

    Thanks for your comment. I know you aren’t trying to start a fight, so I didn’t take your question to be confrontational at all. I’m not sure why anyone would infer from either mine or Bobby’s statements that the problems our communities face are exclusive to our communities. However, speaking for myself only, I will go on record as saying that though the problems in our community ARE NOT exclusive to our community, the ridiculous overrepresentation of those problems in our community is.

    Also, for the record, those “problems” as I perceive them are crime, violence, poverty, under-education, STD infection, and illegitimate childbirth.

    @Gimmeabreak78

    I agree that violence is prevalent in our poor communities and is sensationalized in the media, but I don’t think we have to own every single issue that arises. I am always one who likes to remain neutral when situations like this arise. Like, had this happened in a predominantly chinese, or mexican neighborhood, I can’t see people of those ethnic groups owning the f’d up behaviors of a few. I agree that we only react to how the media has portrayed us, but IMHO the progression towards moving away from this dogma is to move away from our own views of how we operate as a community. There are plenty of prevalent black communities where this stuff does not happen. However, cla.ssism is a second cousin to racism…..

  • Gimmeabreak78

    @Caramel Cat

    I don’t think we disagree. You are right that violence is prevalent in our poor communities, but remember, I was speaking comparatively–and comparatively we have more poor communities than other demographics. Since violence becomes more prevalent as poverty becomes more prevalent, it follows, then, that we also have comparatively more violence in black communities in general.

  • GETUROWN!!

    OH sorry that means 46% of prisoners are black although Black men are only 3% of the U.S population.

  • Don'tGiveAWhat

    @ GETUROWN!!!

    People killing each other (even in church) is NOT a Black issue.

    As to those figures, I see what you’re saying. But please believe it is WIDELY KNOWN in the judicial system that there is a HUGE discrepancy in the conviction and sentencing of Black offenders. Meaning: Black people get locked up and sentenced for crimes people of “other” races get off on. Prime examples are drug possession/intent to distribute, robbery, DUI offenses, and embezzlement/fraud charges. It’s not an EXCUSE, by far, but it IS worth considering….

  • Don'tGiveAWhat

    Wait, let me clear that up – I’m not saying we don’t DO these crimes… Because we do… LOL. I’m just saying, other people do them too, and have the means to either: 1) win the judges’ sympathy based on their demographic background, or 2) hire an attorney with enough influence to get the charges dropped or bargained down. (Example: A cute little white girl aged 21 can get off for a drug possession charge – and by get off, I mean probation and community service, IF she’s even convicted, whereas a young black man aged 19 will get the ENTIRE BOOK thrown at him for the EXACT same crime. I’ve seen it happen with my own two eyes, so that’s not “blaming the man” – that’s calling a spade a spade.) The end result? We look like demonic, antisocial, criminalistic beasts, and they look like “saints” just because they don’t actually do the time…

    Although, I don’t disagree that there is oftentimes a disparity in sentencing between black and white offenders for the same type of crime, the decision to commit crime in the first place is a completely voluntary one. In other words, no one is forced to become a criminal. And since no one is forced to become a criminal, and everyone knows that there is a disparity in how the long arm of the law treats black offenders versus white ones, the solution is to avoid the trap in the first place, rather than to complain about unfair treatment once you fall into it. Everyone knows the trap is there. More of us need to make the decision to avoid it, because afterall, it is 100% avoidable. If one claims that getting into tangles with law enforcement isn’t avoidable, then that attitude feeds into the destructive notion of perpetual black victimhood and allows the vicious cycle to continue.
