Out Of Pocket Quote Of The Day: Vogue Calls Gabourey Sidibe A “Joke”

- By Bossip Staff

Damn. The Academy Awards are long gone but some b*tcha*sses over at Vogue magazine are talking yang-yang on why Gabourey Sidibe would never be featured in their magazine.

Flip the script for the out of pocket comments…

Sources tell me that the editors of Vogue magazine rejected the idea of letting Oscar nominee Gabby Sidibe grace its fashionable pages because of her size.

“She’s a joke in the fashion community. What she wore on the red carpet at the Academy Awards wasn’t a dress, it was a tent,” one nasty little fashion queen (who I shall not be talking with again) told me.

“Vogue is venue where designers debut their best new pieces. All are of which are one of a kind and sample size. It would be impossible to get a regular-sized girl in those clothes, let alone Gabby,” a less acid-tongued fashion source explained.

A spokesperson for Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who after a trip to Minnesota said, “I can only kindly describe most of the people that I saw as little houses,” didn’t return calls by deadline.

I say, if Vogue is so buddy-buddy with all the designers, tell them make a dress for Gabby for the next issue. See? Problem fixed. That was easy! And for all of you magazine editors out there, normal people don’t want to see all of these skeleton models — give us the real girls!

Who the f*ck asked those mfers to put Gabourey in Vogue anyway? SMH.

Wow. I think she looked beautiful. Who pays attention to what Vogue says anyway? Most women are not model sample size. Those aren’t clothes for women; they’re for tweens.

  • LoLaFloRida

When will we stop allowing others to define our beauty?

  • kersh

i guess the REAL gurls r the ones with .002% body fat

  • RazeKane

LETS JUST CALL THIS PERSON AT VOGUE A NO CLAS S AZZ.

  • TsunadeSama

Who is Vogue again??? Oh yeah, people who think themselves as an authority of sayin’ what’s or not fashion… I’m so sick of these starvin’ girls!!!

  • Simone

I don’t want to sound mean but Gabourey does need to lose weight because that is just not healthy

  • bealady

Give me a BREAK! Gabby DOES need to lose weight and I wouldn’t put her in any fashion magazine to be quite honest. She can not wear high end fashion nor does she look healthy. Why do we jump ignorant everytime a white person happens to be telling the truth about somebody black? We talk about THEM too when necessary. Please stop fronting and acting like this girl represents us all b/c she doesn’t represent me. And kudos to Vogue for keeping it 100.

I wish they would leave Gabby alone. Enough is enough. She is big girl. She did her thang in Precious. Let her have her 15 min of fame without all the hate.

I can tell by these comments on here, everyone of YOU lives in ghetto clothing such as Fila & Fubu, because some of y’all sound dumb as hell sayin’ “Who is Vogue anyway?!”….”VOGUE” is the face of fashion, style, MEDIA, RESPECT that! Furthermore, what might sounds as a HARSH statement geared towards Gabby, it’s actually the TRUTH. Gabby has been babied the whole time she’s hit the scene…..PLEASE with that….tell the truth. She’s too BIG and needs to loose weight, no more or less.

  • Sam

I give that chick 2 years to live the rest of her life. That monkey ape needs to lose some weight!!!

  • Barbara

I wish I was GABBY right now. She made is from the BOTTOM to the TOP. She made money that I most likely will never see. KEEP IT UP GABBY, YOU HAVE ONE SLINDER BLACK GAL ON YOUR SIDE…. SHOW THESE HOES HOW TO MAKE IT RAIN. KEEP STUNTIN ON THEM HOES!!!!

  • Roxanne

I must agree she is over weight and personally I would nit put her on any cover except Health and Fitness showing the effects of obesity. 65% of Americans are over weight and we want to say now she thick or disclaimer it with something else. Lets call it what it is she is fat and looks extremely unhealthy. The girl us 5’3 or at best 5’4 weighing in at least 200lbs, everybody screaming leave her alone, but if she has heat attack or breathing complications and dies..Then she was the fat actress that could have shed some weight, but no one wanted to say anything! Gabby Lose Weight, your too short to be caring around 200lbs or more!

  • Barbara

MY BAD, GABBY YOU MADE IT FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP IN ONE FREAKING YEAR!! YEAH THAT’S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. MAKE IT RAIN, RAIN, RAIN ON THEM JEALOUS, HATIN A** SIDE LINE BITC***

  • Dilla

This is soo typical of the fashion community, remember they called Jessica Simpson fat???

  • LadyDeeDee

Seriously Gabby is morbidly obese. She needs to lose some weight. Most black women are overweight; look at the statistics. Stop hiding behind adjectives such as thick and just right and get behind a work out plan.

  • hey cutie

In the real world, where people work everyday to pay their mortgages, insurance college tuition and everyday living exspences Vouge or their opinion on fashion does not matter. When Macy’s has a coupon I clip it, JC Penney and Sears also. Yes Gabby is a big girl, so what she seems happy with herself. What she thinks of herself is what matters. Do your thing big girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cw

    Who cares??????????

  • LEA

sigh, while I don’t agree with the Vogue comments. Gabby is obese and there is no denying it. She needs to lose weight for her health, not for anyone else

  • Negroplease!

Gabby is morbidly obese. There is no getting around that fact. Not all Black women are morbidly obese and to “praise” her for being “real”..the only thing I can think of is REAL BIG! However, she would not have gotten that role without being “real big” and now that Oscar season is over. It is time for her to drop the weight.

VOGUE. Negroes please! Like any Black folks live in the “fashion sphere of VOGUE!” NY-GUZ stop fooling yourselves. You can talk about Vogue but you will never be part of that world. Yeah, I am here to keep it real. Folks up here praising Anna Wintour like she is the second coming and Black folks ain’t got a pot to piss in an a window to throw it out of for 95% of us! Negroes kill me. The only thing most of us can do is BUY the damn magazine and PRETEND we can buy those clothes. Yeah, we can buy bootleg, but don’t fool yourself…If you save up all your checks..and manage to purchase some of the clothes featured in Vogue..You will still be wearing them to “hood establishments” and renting a place somewhere. The White folks who can AFFORD..NOT BUY (which is what Negroes do!) have money in the bank, own property and so forth. Black folks, stop lying to yourselves…No champagne wishes and caviar dreams; just Champale realities and pig’s feet in a pot!

  • emmettmays85

yes gabby need to loes weight drastically

  • jayjai81

If you don’t like her….don’t look at her. She is in control of what happens to her…..all in all….all press good or bad is what will keep her in the spotlight. She’s fat….what can you do about it. You can talk about her and tell her what she should be doing and what she shouldn’t be doing but at the end of the day, we are just commentors on a damn gossip site. Regardless if Vogue is featuring her or not, where one door closes there are always others.

  • mzmysterious

what they say is some ignorant S**t, yea she a big girl and we all see that, it is how they say it, would they want someone talking about their child that way and they can make clothes for big girls they choose not too. If she dnt want to lose weight that is not our problem, it is hers to deal with and it is not stopping her from getting work. So everybody need to stop hating cuz the big girl making more than some of the people on here making these ignorant a** comments.
