One of Philadelphia’s most wanted fugitives, a suspect in three homicides who was dubbed “a menace to society” by police, was captured this weekend in North Philadelphia. Darryl Young, 21, also known by his nickname “D-Nice,” was arrested at a known associate’s home on Susquehanna Avenue near 2nd Street Saturday afternoon, said James Burke, supervising deputy with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

A squad of U.S. marshals and officers from the Police Department’s Homicide and Southwest Detectives units went to the home about 1 p.m. and found Young on the second floor. He refused to cooperate with law enforcement and was also booked for resisting arrest. He is being held without bail. Law-enforcement officials say Young is responsible for the September shooting death of a 19-year-old in West Philadelphia. Another teenager was shot in that incident.

Young is also wanted on attempted-murder charges relating to an October triple shooting in West Philadelphia. He is a suspect in two other homicides.

The crimes are believed to be drug-related. All follow a similar scenario in which the gunman walked up to men standing on the street and opened fire. Young is allegedly a member of the Lansdowne Avenue Boys or L.A. Boys.

It’s so sad to see men this young involved in all this violence, crime, drugs, and bullsh*t.
