Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson Arrested For Assault
Another Day, Another Arrest: Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson Popped For Alleged Assault
SMH:
Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson was arrested and accused of an assault in connection with a May 30 incident at an Austin, Texas, bar
The Austin American Statesman reported the arrest, based on an affadavit that details the alleged assault. Benson is accused of punching a bar employee after being asked to leave following a altercation. Employees separated Benson and another patron. The affadavit said Benson pushed an employee “in an attempt to continue the fight he was previously engaged in.” He then spit blood from his lip onto an employee, the affadavit said.
Bar staff asked Benson to leave several times. “Benson refused, and was escorted out of the bar,” the affidavit said. After leaving the bar, Benson hit an employee “with his right fist to the left side” of an employee’s face, the affadavit said. Benson posted bail and was released from custody. The Statesman reached him by phone, but he declined to comment until later.
