Roman Polanski’s Victim Says It’s Time To Move On, Leave Him Alone

- By Bossip Staff

Roman Polanski’s victim, Samantha Geimer, admits that he raped her at Jack Nicholson’s house when she was 13, but claims it was 33 years ago and it’s time to get over it.

Samantha Geimer is making light of being drugged and raped by famous director Roman Polanski 33 years ago. She contends that since he hasn’t done it again, all should be forgotten. Polanski fled the US to avoid prosecution and L.A. County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley says he did the crime, he has to do the time… regardless of what the victim says now.

“Enough is enough. This matter should have been resolved 33 years ago,” she said in an interview with The Times on Monday night.

Polanski had sex with Geimer at Jack Nicholson’s home in 1977 — sparking the epic case that appeared to end Monday when Swiss officials said they would not extradite the Oscar-winning director back to L.A. to face sentencing.

Geimer, who has in the past publicly forgiven Polanski, said she can’t understand why prosecutors continue to pursue the director, maintaining that he’s not a threat to anyone.

“At 76 years old? I don’t think so.”

She was forbidden from talking about the civil-suit settlement she and Polanski reached, but said that didn’t influence her opinion that the case should have been ended years ago.

“People say I have ulterior motives,” she said. “That doesn’t make it true. I’ve felt this way from the beginning.”

In Los Angeles and Washington, however, officials vowed to continue their pursuit of Polanski, though their options are now significantly limited.

“A 13-year-old girl was drugged and raped,” said State Department spokesman Philip Crowley. “This is not a matter of technicality.”

The Swiss Federal Department of Justice and Police said the U.S. had failed to turn over certain documents requested by the Swiss.

L.A. County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley, who led the effort to bring Polanski back to the U.S., said he was dumbfounded by the decision. “Mr. Polanski is still convicted of serious child sex charges,” Cooley said. “The Swiss could not have found a smaller hook on which to hang their hat.”

Now if famed director Spike Lee gave a 13-year-old roofies, raped her and fled the country, they would have given his whole family aiding and abetting charges until he came back.

I question that b!!tch’s sanity…Any1 who has been violated as a child doesnt just “get over it”. Truly a disgusting thing 2 say…downplay the issue cause they tossed a couple dollars her way. Just trifling….

2 bad he didnt perish in Auschwitz…

There is NO WAY Spike Lee would’ve made it to the airport to flee! This ish is crazy! What kind of message is that to children who have been violated in that way? Just get over it and move on? While that is good advice, there is also a process one has to go through just to move on. This is not something that should be taken lightly. Child rapists should be handled in the same way, if not worse, as a murderer.

  • Miss U Much MJJ....Lovely1

She said she felt like moving on from the beginning. She was 13! There is a reason why 13 year olds aren’t allowed to make certain decisions. This chick got a BIG pay check so she is lovey lovey. If she hadn’t gotten a dime, she’s gone over to Europe and get him herself.

If anyone is truly interested in why the Swiss will not be turning this pig over to the US, research the financial events that occurred between the 2 in the past couple of years. When the US started feeling the heat of the economic meltdown, it immediately started to look for ways to raise funds. One of these ways was to go after the Swiss for their “shady” business practices. The Swiss came out victorious in the end, but trust, they will be doing nothing to assist the US. Leave it to the world’s bully to piss off even a neutral country. Smh…

A crime against a child was commited, and Roman Polanski was found guilty of drugging and raping her. He fled the country to avoid sentencing and he didn’t do it alone. It doesn’t matter that the victim, now an adult, has moved on. This man has caused alot of international and political drama, and he should be made to serve his time, even if it means serving it in another country. I’m dissapointed in the Swiss gov’t, they didn’t remain neutral, they should have sent him back for us to deal with. It isn’t like he’s gonna be put on death row, although anyone who sexually abuses a child should spend the rest of thief life in jail. Just another case of money and power buying thier way to freedom…

Marsha, she was probably so drugged that she never had a memory of what happened – that’s probably why she’s saying everyone should get over it. And that settlement she got certainly eased the pain.
