Here’s the thing, we’re all for people freely practicing whatever religion they choose. But doesn’t seem like Atheist like to really throw their beliefs at you?? This sh*t right here is taking it a liiiiiitle too far.
Starting today, the sides of four Fort Worth city buses will bear this message: “Millions of Americans are Good Without God.”
Their sponsor, the Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason, says it’s only coincidence that the atheist-themed ads will debut during Christmas season. They are not exactly apologizing.
“We’ve been trying to put these ads together for awhile and we didn’t plan for them to come out now,” said Terry McDonald of the Coalition of Reason. “But I’m not unhappy it’s running during Christmas. Why do Christians own December? There were people that said this may cause a problem. That doesn’t bother me.”
These mickiefickies think they slick. Say word your ads just go up in December?? GTFOH, we’re sure Bill Maher is proud of you guys but c’mon son…
And to that end I present, exhibit B, a $20,000 billboard that is placed on I-495 from New Jersey to the Lincoln Tunnel
The message — “You know it’s a myth. This season, celebrate reason!” — is emblazoned in large white letters above the nativity scene.
David Silverman, the president of American Atheists and the man behind the billboard, said it would remain in place at least until the winter solstice on Dec. 21 and possibly through Christmas. He said the billboard was partly inspired by one that American Atheists’ founder, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, set up in Dallas in the 1970s proclaiming “Atheism: It’s not what you believe.”
Not really sure how many people are going to feel about riding a bus or strip of highway knowing that they could be struck by lightning but hey…Have the Atheist groups in America gone too far? Peep the billboard below
