Oklahoma City forward and current scoring leader Kevin Durant is the quintessential nice guy, but after yesterday’s loss against the Miami Heat, he took former Toronto Raptor-that-still-looks-like-a-Raptor to task for being a “fake tough guy”
It is out of character for Durant to be nothing but complimentary of his peers. He rarely engages in trash talking, so for him to say this about Chris Bosh, I tend to believe him.
During the Heat vs. Thunder game Durant and Bosh got into a mild scuffle and both received technical fouls.
After the game, one that the Thunder lost, Durant went off.
“I was talking to my teammate and [Bosh] decided he wanted to put his two cents into it. I am quiet guy, laid back guy, but I’m not going to let nobody talk trash to me. He’s on a good team now so he thinks he can talk a little bit. There are a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he’s one of them.”
“I’m no punk. I wasn’t even talking to him first off. He decided to butt in and I’m not going to just let that slide. Especially in our house. Like I said, he’s not one of those guys I look at and say he has a rap for talking back to guys or getting into it. He’s a nice guy. I’m not going to let that type of person say something to me like that.”
I never saw Bosh as a tough guy even a fake one, but when you have Lebron and Wade as protectors I can see him puffing out his Avatar chest a bit.
I like Durant coming out of his shell a bit and speaking on how he feels about the situation. He is the leader of the Thunder and he is letting opposing players, he and his squad won’t be bullied.
Now that’s what we like to see. It’s good to be an upstanding citizen and all that, but sometimes you just gotta say “Wait a minute muthafugga!”
Sidenote: Chris, how you talkin greasy to somebody and you had on that outfit??? Stop it Slime…
