In these times of recession and starving children it’s almost sinful to spend this kind of money on a meal. But, dammit if that doesn’t look like a tasty burger!
A Las Vegas restaurant is serving up a $5,000 (USD) burger – and the chef insists it’s a bargain. Chef Hubert Keller put the ultimate burger for high rollers on the menu at Mandalay Bay’s Fleur restaurant to top a rival chef selling a $100 truffle burger. The burger is Kobe beef topped with foie gras and black truffle on a brioche truffle bun and truffle sauce. It is served with a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1995, which was already on the restaurant’s wine list priced at $5,300. Keller, who stars on hit US TV show ‘Top Chef’, said: “It’s a bargain!” Diners who order the burger meal get a certificate of authenticity – and Keller says he does not mind if they put ketchup on his gourmet dish.
They say it ain’t trickin’, if you got it but sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit…
