Surprise, Surprise: Sarah Palin And Karl Rove Defend President Obama’s Citizenship And Religion

President Obama, whose citizenship and religion have been questioned, is picking up some interesting defenders on those issues.

Sarah Palin and Karl Rove.

“Those are distractions,” Palin said yesterday in New York. “What we’re concerned about is the economy. And we’re concerned about the policies coming out of (Obama’s) administration.”

The questions about Obama’s birth certificate and the claims that he is secretly a Muslim are “annoying,” Palin added, in another sign that Republicans in general are becoming increasingly uneasy about the more extreme claims regarding the president.

“Let’s just stick with what really matters,” Palin said.

Palin’s comments came after former George W. Bush political adviser Karl Rove urged Republicans to distance themselves from conspiracy theorists, whether they involve Obama or others.

”Within our party, we’ve got to be very careful about allowing these people who are the birthers and the 9/11-deniers to get too high a profile and say too much without setting the record straight,” Rove said on Fox News.

There seems to be a rising sentiment among Republicans that the “birthers” are hurting their party.

“Barack Obama is a citizen of the country,” said Rep. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., speaking on CNN. “We ought to get off this kick. There are plenty of differences we have with the president between Republicans and Democrats than to spend time on something like this.”

Nah muhf**kas, don’t come over here tryin’ to play nice now so that people will listen to that bullsh*t you kickin’! You need more people!

If she (PALIN) had said this 2 years ago then she would be credible. She is just following behing Rove. Republicans always need someone to say it first then they all jump on the same wagon. If they stop listening to RUSH LIMBNUTZ maybe they would have a heart and chance .

The Republicans aren’t worried about no damn economy. Regardless of what BS they say, Obama’s policies helped save this nation from the brink of no return, period. We still have a long way to go but that man is working his @ss off. Some people may not like the way they went about trying to fix things, but those very same people really dont have a right to criticize the way they do because this country has failed. The Republican leadership is dangerous and cynical. What has the house of Republicans done since the last election?? They are voting on abortion bills and trying to defund anything Obama has done. Only in this country could the party whose policies created the majority of the mess sit back, do nothing in a time of a crises and get rewarded for it. Sarah Palin better be happy the Obama’s are nice people and Michelle hasn’t let the south Chicago come out of her. Sarah Palin is one of the main people who played into the “Obama isn’t an American” nonsense. She needs to have a seat. If these people helped contribute half as much to actually helping getting this economy back on track as they do flapping their gums our nation might have a quicker recovery.

Obama has played the birthers just right by absolutely, positively ignoring them. Cause no matter what he said they wouldn’t believe him anyway. But ain’t no Black man gonna make it to the hightest position in this country without being tripped up if there was some way to trip him up. Which is to say if the birthers/Republicans had any proof, they would have used it in the ’08 primaries.

  • cotton124

Obama 2012. Do we really someone else to step in. A QUICK no. Unless he don’t feel like it and I don’t see that happening.
