Jesus Take The Wheel: Cornell Frat Gets Shut Down After Sophomore’s Drinking-Related Death

- By Bossip Staff

Authorities have shut down the Cornell chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon after a 19-year-old member was found dead Friday.

Cornell University officials say they’ve temporarily suspended the fraternity where a student was found dead last week in what authorities are calling an apparent alcohol-related death.

University officials tell Ithaca media outlets that Sigma Alpha Epsilon was suspended Tuesday because of the death of 19-year-old sophomore George Desdunes of Brooklyn.

He was found dead at the frat house on Friday morning. The Tompkins County sheriff has said alcohol consumption appears to have played a part in his death.

College officials say the information they have about the use of alcohol is sufficient to conclude the frat likely violated university policies.

R.I.P. George

So sad. We have to teach our children the dangers of alcohol consumption and binge drinking.
