Man Arrested In Damian Furtch McDonald’s Beating Says He’s Gay Too

- By Bossip Staff

Here’s an interesting update to the Damian Furtch story:

A homeless thug copped to brutally pounding a young gay man in front of a West Village McDonald’s, but told investigators the beat down shouldn’t be labeled a hate crime because he is gay too, police said. Investigators learned about the odd twist after arresting Anthony Bray, 21, in Brooklyn late Friday night for viciously pummeling Damian Furtch, 26, outside of the fast food joint on West 3rd Street near Sixth Avenue last Sunday, cops said.

The culprit told detectives he threw punches because his victim “disrespected” him, a source said. Bray has not been charged with a hate crime – only misdemeanor assault.
Furtch, who posted startling images of his black-and-blue face on Facebook after the 4:30 a.m. assault, claimed his attacker shouted gay epithets as he slugged him.

“The fact that the attacker in custody alleges he is gay does not change the fact that he shouted anti gay slurs while attacking me,” Furtch said in a statement today. “I look forward to the criminal trial where all of the accurate details will come out.” The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force will continue to look into Furtch’s allegations and see if any additional charges are warranted, police said.

“It may come down to just two guys having a fistfight,” said one police source.

SMH. Do y’all believe dude???

Gays use gay slurs all the time. Especially if it’s a black male who is on the DL and at times don’t consider themselves gay.

“pounding a young gay man in front of a West Village”. They couldn’t use any other words like “brutally beaten”. Just wondering if anybody else spotted that too.

First of all, who post pictures of their beat up face on FACEBOOK? Where they do that at?
    *
Usually, people who have been abused feel shame and some sort of guilt for their attack.
    *
This guy slaps his dirty laundry on front street for the world to see, as if he is proud to be a “victim” or at the very least- wants sympathy.
    *
    Victims don’t act this way.
Something is weird about this story…..

  • Flohno

It could be true. If two black dudes got into a fight, I’m sure the N-word would be flying out of their mouths and that would be considered a hate crime.

  • Flohno

    edit:*wouldn’t*

  • What?

    taking it*

  • aishab

Let the cops do him up the butt. If he likes it, he’s gay and it’s not a hate crime 😉

  • Jock One

If the attacker was hanging out in the Village he probably is gay cause no straight guys hang out down there.

  • #1 Bottom Bitch

Daaaaaaamn! He f@cked lil buddy up! I personally have nuthin against gay ppl tho! They ppl just like the rest of us! I hope somebody returns the favor 2 his attacker!

  • Courtney

He probably is gay. I’m sure that’s the problem. The ones on the down-low always act homophobic.

We are in the last days smh.

  • Jayonce

I don’t believe the attacker, but I’d say I was gay too to avoid getting charged with a hate crime since it’s a felony.

  • Daniel

I would make him prove it. Not on me tho!!!!!!! But he would have to take someones meat and look like he’s enjoying it, LMAO!!

  • Unico

As some comments in the previous entry about this. This story is just too suspicious… something isn’t fitting together, especially with the reaction from the ‘victim’, and the question on whether the people who beat him up knew he was gay and intended to beat him up, or reacted on words or just wanted to beat someone up that day and he was a target based on hooligan actions.

  • Peppa

It is always so amazing how HUMAN BEINGS find no problem blaming the victim, or giving the criminal the benefit of the doubt. None of you were there, none of you know the victim to be a liar, so why believe a brute who even admit that he started swinging because he was disrespected. WTF..How did he disrespect him, he wasn’t in his home, or at his place of employment. What probably happened is the gay guy was out being himself, the criminal made a comment, the gay guy commented back, and the rest is history.

  • lily(bk'sfinest)

The victim is a an aspiring actor…

  • Saggy Titties

Why is it that people treat gay men like dirt and praise gay women? I have seen gay guys get tormented in the worst way! We are all sinners!

    • Unico

      @ Saggy

Anyone can be treated like that. People are jerks and there are some jerks who take things too far. Anyway, I say people are just so influenced by some media on how they should react to homosexuality they are not thinking about their actions. imo
