White Women Do It Too: 8 Things Black Women Can’t Get Away With

- By Bossip Staff

It seems like every week there is a new study about black women ranking number one in something perceived negatively—abortions, births out of wedlock, multiple baby fathers. And, among the popular defenses is that black women are not alone in these statistics. “White women do it, too” is one of the most common excuses.

Black, white, yellow, brown—we are all one in the same in that we come from the same species; but, it would be silly not to acknowledge that we do come from varying creeds. We are culturally and genetically bred differently; and, society has been conditioned to see black and white women in conflicting regards. Thus, we are impacted differently by similar actions.

“We are culturally and genetically bred differently.”

This statement in one sentence explains exactly why we have so many problems in the world, even though as you said we are the same species.

The straight face one is so true. I remember I was walking towards my mom with her starbucks and this white girl was next to me and we were both straight faced and when I got to my mom she said I looked mean, and I asked her if she saw the white girl and she had nothing to say. I feel like I have to be Mary poppins whenever I walk somewhere.

And also, while some of those are true, I have to disagree with some others. I and people I know equally hate when white women or black women are loud on the phone. I should know, I’m from Long Island, home of ignorance by all, no matter race or creed. As for the skinny jeans, I’ve seen plenty of black girls rock it. But you have to be skinny for that. Curvy girls of any race don’t go with skinny jeans.

See the world would be a better place if white asian and black women had the mentality of a messycan bytch; they dont care how fat they are, they gonna wear haltertops, booty jeans and shorts so small you can count the puzsy hairs.

okay, well what if you’re bi-racial and your racial appearance changes depending on what time of the year it is.. then what Madumm??

Disagree about the nosejobs. Some people really need a nose job! If your nose is too big for your face, then please get one. The key to a great nose job is keeping the shape within your race while reducing the overall size. Lil Kim, Janet, and LeToya had bad nose jobs. Kerry Washington, Left Eye, and Halle Berry had good nose jobs. Don’t let haters who can’t even afford plastic surgery deter you from getting quality plastic surgery if that is what you want.

  • simone

they had a point on alot of those esp. the “straight faced” one!

Thanks ladies. Just understand these types of ideas and pa$$ them along to other black women when necessary. Black women need to be strengthening, uplifting and enlightening eachother more than ever because we seem to be under attack recently and we cannot look to many black men of power to do this. Power, confidence, success is our best ammo to all of the recent oppression, but we have to unify first. Oppression breeds revolution. God bless and love.

Most of the crap on that list I wouldn’t do anyway. So I don’t care if I can get away with it or not. Sleeping with someone on the first date is just messy.

The “skinny jeans” post seems desperately to try to excuse sistas from getting that fat azz into a gym.

    @ Caucasian Becky
Obviously not everyone because my white husband is with me…and I’m clearly African American and sure as hell not jealous of anything y’all posses because my beautiful brown skin has attracted white, black, Latin, Samoan, and Asian men…just because ur Caucasian doesn’t mean ur cute…. #truth

  • sweetpea

True, true…me and my hubby are both in the medical profession; and looks alone didnt start our relationship… we both met in college, so not everyone is all about looks. But u got to at least be attracted to a person before you’re willing to open up to them. #justsaying

I also agree about the straight face. I don’t know how many men come up to me in a bar and ask if I’m having a bad day. When I say “no, why”, I always get because you look “really pissed off”.

  • Daisy Jay

All I know is that some black women need to stop justifying the bad they do with “other races do it too.” That’s no excuse. How about you stop doing it all together so only the other races look bad. Ever think of that?
